Ninetieth Anniversary of Holodomor 1932 – 1933: The Weaponization of Food, Then and Now, and Ensuring the Right to Food for All

Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine was an artificially induced fatal famine that took the lives of millions in Ukraine. The event will honor victims of the Great Famine (Holodomor) of 1932-1933 in Ukraine and will draw parallels between using food as a weapon then and now. It will address lessons that should be applied to present efforts to ensure the right to food for all and highlight policies that prioritize food security and the right to food at the global level. It’s essential to address both the immediate humanitarian needs and the long-term strategies for food security.
