Candlelight Vigil – DC Holodomor Memorial
Join Holodomor90 in shedding light on one of the darkest chapters in history and honoring the memory of millions who perished during the Holodomor. On November 25th, Holodomor Awareness Day, let us come together to remember, reflect, and raise awareness about this tragic event that shaped Ukraine’s history.
Illuminate the Past: Light a candle to honor the victims of the Holodomor, a man-made famine-genocide that took the lives of millions in Ukraine in 1932-1933.
Share Your Support: Bring your smartphones and cameras to capture the powerful moments of unity during the vigil. Your pictures will help raise global awareness about the Holodomor.
Raise Your Voice: Share your thoughts and reflections during an optional open mic moment, and let your words contribute to a deeper understanding of this tragedy.
There will be a special performance by the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family Choir.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Limited battery-operated candles will be available – please bring your own if you can.
